Focus stacking vs. stopping down

A lot of people have been asking me if you can get the same look as a focus stacked image by simply stopping down the lens. Here is an image that is a result of focus stacking 15 images from the top most part of the watch, to the table. This was shot at f5.6 on the hasselblad 55mm lens. 

And here is a single shot from the same lens at f32:

Now we can zoom in. First we have the focus stacked image (f5.6) - 

and the single shot at f32 - 

and finally a split screen, focus stacked on top, f32 single shot on bottom -

these are all straight out of camera, no adjustments, and method B in helicon focus. As shown in the video i posted on youtube (https://youtu.be/PvanvPSPAco), sometimes some methods (A,B,C) work better than others. okay thats all for now, hope to post more here soon!
